Vegetarian Mapo Tofu

Ingredients

  • 200g plant-based protein

  • 1 box of silken tofu

  • 3 cloves of garlic

  • 2 pieces of ginger

Seasoning:

  • 1 tablespoon of spicy chili bean sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of cooking wine

  • 1 tablespoon of corn starch

  • 1 small bowl of water

Steps

  1. Mince the ginger and the garlic

  2. Cut the tofu into cubes. Boil a pot of water and add the tofu in. Blanch for 2 minutes. Take them out.

  3. Sauté the minced ginger and minced garlic on medium heat. Add the vegetarian meat in and stir fry for 3 minutes.

  4. Add the chili bean sauce, sugar, cooking wine and soy sauce in and stir fry. Add the tofu and water. Cook on high heat for 5-10 minutes.

  5. Mix the corn starch with a bit of water and put it in to thicken the sauce.
